Maureen Badejo Remanded Over Alleged Threats Against Apostle Johnson Suleman
UK-based blogger Maureen Badejo has reportedly been remanded in a correctional facility following charges relating to alleged threats made against Nigerian cleric Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministries.
According to reports, the charges were filed by legal counsel to Apostle Johnson Suleman after a series of videos surfaced online in which the blogger allegedly made direct and personal threats toward the cleric. In one of the widely circulated videos, Badejo was said to have declared that the days of Apostle Johnson Suleman were numbered. In another video, she allegedly claimed that people would begin to die in large numbers within the apostle’s church.
The development has drawn renewed attention to a violent attack that occurred months later involving the apostle’s convoy. During the incident, the vehicle conveying Apostle Johnson Suleman was reportedly riddled with bullets by unknown gunmen.
Security agencies later confirmed that a suspect believed to have led the group responsible for the attack was apprehended in Ondo State. Observers have since raised questions about the sequence of events, noting that the alleged threats surfaced months before the attack on the cleric’s life.
